when u go to the salon i dont know exactly what its called when u get ur nails done they glue the fake nail in the end of your nail and they with a brush they put a little powder and then a liquid wich they put your nail and it kind of blends into the fake and real one well i whant to know where could i get that liquid and the powder they have in salons i wana make my own nails i have everything else i just need that thing. does anyone know where i could find it???When u go to the salon and get ur nails done where could u find the white coating they put on top?
my local drug store has all that stuff, but if urs doesnt find a nail salon that also sells products, or a beauty hair/nail shop. When u go to the salon and get ur nails done where could u find the white coating they put on top?
although you can usually buy that stuff at a regular drug store (walgreens, cvs, walmart) it's best to go to a beauty supply store like sally's.
you need to use a brush to mix the acrylic powder with the activating liquid.
the real problem with doing it at home is the lack of the ';power sander'; that they use to even out the surface of the nail once you've applied it.
the power sanders can also be bought at a beauty supply store, but i always just used a really coarse nail file.
if you are hell bent on doing it yourself, i would say go for the electric sander thing... it doesn't take as long and the results are better.

My nails are really flimbsy, the tops of them always come off, like layers. Is there anyway I can fix that?
(btw, I have never had a manicure)My nails are really flimbsy, the tops of them always come off, like layers. Is there anyway I can fix that?
getting a manicure would be the start, or even buying what you need and doing your own at home. Another thing is if you are low on calcium, it can and will cause your nails to crack. You can also use a clear coated finger nail polish to help and stregthen them as well as a nail hardener or strengther. My nails are really flimbsy, the tops of them always come off, like layers. Is there anyway I can fix that?
It's more than just a calcium deficiency. I eat a good amount of dairy products and I also take a high multivitamin every day along with other supplements and my nails still peel. The only thing you can really do is put some polish on them to stop it temporarily.
oh that happens to me ALL the time and it gets rlly annoying doesn't it? and i haven't ever had a manicure but i haven't been able to fix it all i do is just take it off! srry i didn't rlly help that much but... i hope i did!
I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS YOU!
but basically, you have to not peel them and try to have milk or calcium and put clear nail varnish on. thats worked but i still have a bit of peel lol. let me know if u get a solution! :D
P.s. try hand and nail cream, and keep ur nails as short as possible!
mine do that too! i buy Sally Hansen clear nail polish which is supposed to strengthen your nails. it works really well

Are finishing nails strong enough to fasten a bar top to the frame?
I am finishing up a homemade bar and I need to fasten the bar top to the frame. I would like to show as little as possble on the top (i.e. screws, nails, etc.). Would using finishing nails be strong enough to secure the top the the frame or should I just use screws and try to hide them as much as possible. The finishing nails I have are 1.5'; and the top is .75';.
Thank you!Are finishing nails strong enough to fasten a bar top to the frame?
Fasten the bar top to the frame using screws. put the screws in on the underside of the frame. Pre-Drill through your frame and the underside of the bar top using a bit slightly smaller than your screws. Make sure the screws are long enough to go though at least 2/3rds of the bar top. You can use some construction adhesive along the edge of the frame also. Are finishing nails strong enough to fasten a bar top to the frame?
Angle brackets would work great! Use some construction adhesive also. I made an island top for 2 cabinets butted up to each other for the kitchen. Good luck with your project!
apply some construction adhesive to the frame, set the top in place, and screw it from underneath. make sure your screws aren't to long.
if your frame is made from 3/4'; stock you'll want to use a 1 1/4'; screw. if it's made from 2x stock a 2'; screw will work. the screw should be the thickness of the frame plus 1/2';.
You can use little blocks of 1x1x? in the corner formed by the inside of the frame/cabinet and the bar top. Screw them to the frame first leaving a small gap between each one and the top. Then put screws from the bottom of the block up into the top and it will pull the top down tight. Nothing will show on top.
however you decide to fasten it dont use glue...your top and sides will move at different rates and you will crack your top... http://www.mcfeelys.com/product/TT-0104/鈥?/a>

OMG! I wore fake nails and now my real one won't top chipping and breaking! I've tried everything, even milk!
I've tried:
-drinking more milk
-garlic(dont ask why XD)
-vitamins
-like a ton of other things!OMG! I wore fake nails and now my real one won't top chipping and breaking! I've tried everything, even milk!
Keep them free of polish that is bad for the nails. Wear gloves when you do the dishes or have your hands in any chemicals. Give them a chance to recover and grow out.My girls use those nails all the time and their own are a mess now. Fashion has its price. I use Vaseline Intensive Care lotion for hands and nails that has helped me.

use clear stuff that makes it strong. you can get it anywhere
Actually, nothing is going to help sweetie! I had on fake nails for 4 years, and now all but one of my nails are okay. The one that is messed up has a permanent split once it grows out of the nail bed. What happens is when the nail tech uses a Dremel or other power tool or even files too deep, it injures the nail bed and scar tissue is formed. Whenever the nail grows over that scar area, it splits. It really sucks because all of my other nails grow nice and even, but that one bad one has to stay clipped short so it doesn't get torn off.
I hate to say it, but get used to it.
I had fake nails for a while and when I took them off my nails were horribly brittle and weak. That was 3+ years ago and they are still bad. I guess they maybe get a little stronger with time, but I don't know that they ever really recover. My cuticles are a permanent wreck now, too.
The best thing I have found is to apply some strengthening nail polish, but it also peels a lot on my nails which them makes me bite them and that is no good either.
protein, eat it! Jell-O is also good for fingernails.
I had the same problem. Were they acrylic overlays? If so, you have to wait for your natural nails to grow completely out from where the drill marks are. Until that time, try using a nail strengthener nailpolish (Sally Hansen Diamond Nails is the best).

What is more important? Top Coat or Base Coat for Nails?
Currently, I'm deciding whether or not to get a base coat or a top coat. I have a clear colour which I heard can be used as a top coat or a base coat, so to save $$$ I'm only going to buy one of them. The things is that I don't which one! The two I'm deciding between is a base coat that smooths the nail over for more even application of colour, or a top coat with UV protection. Can anybody tell suggest the one I should choose? What is more important? Top Coat or Base Coat for Nails?
It depends, base coats as you said smooth the nail for the polish. But also if you are painting it a dark color then you NEED the base coat so the color won't stain your nails.
With the UV top coat, do you get a lot of sun. And do you have a lot of sun on your nails. It seems weird to me and I wouldn't spend money on it.
Perhaps a top coat that will prevent chips instead.
To sum it up:
If you are painting your nail in a light color get a top coat.
Latter in the fall and winter when darker colors are in get the base coat. What is more important? Top Coat or Base Coat for Nails?
go with the base coat, or if all else fails buy the cheaper one. It's all just nail polish. any coat under the colour, as long as it dries first will do a pretty good job of smoothing the nail.
If you want the UV protection get the top coat.

Plastic strips on top of tar strip on top of 3 tab shingles. Nailed through plastic. Installed correctly?
My roof was installed with the long plastic strips left on top of the tar strip on each shingle. This tar strip is on the top side of the shingle directly above the 3 tabs. The shingles were nailed through this plastic strip. They did not disintegrate and seem to have been a barrier preventing the tar strip from sealing when it heated up. Was this installed correctly? I have wind damage due to a dozen or so tabs lifting up, bending over and breaking off. The back side of the broken tabs shows no sign of tar/glue and pieces of the plastic strips are still evident on the shingle tops that are now exposed. The plastic strip says do not remove on it. Why, and should it have been removed?Plastic strips on top of tar strip on top of 3 tab shingles. Nailed through plastic. Installed correctly?
That plastic strip should stay on the underside of the shingles, not on top. The only purpose is to keep the shingles from sticking together in the packaging. If the plastic strip is on top of the shingles, they were installed incorrectly and will prevent the shingles from sealing,Plastic strips on top of tar strip on top of 3 tab shingles. Nailed through plastic. Installed correctly?
Yes, the plastic strips are there to prevent the shingles from sticking together during shipping. While you don't want them to stick during shipping, you DO want them to bond to the shingle below when they are installed. This helps make sure the shingles form a water tight barrier on the roof. I also do not think the wind damage you describe is related to the improper installation. The wind would likely break off the tabs even if the plastic was correctly removed. You should call your roofer and have them tear off the roof and re-install the shingles correctly.
The purpose of the tar strip IS to seal the shingles together. The plastic is to stop the shignles from sticking together in the packaging. It sounds to me that your roofers did not know what they were doing.
Sounds like the shingles were put on with the backside up, granules down.
I have used 3 tab shingles in the past and have never had trouble with the plastic strip sticking to the tar strip.

Like with white tops?
Here are two techniques:
First is to lay scotch tape over the nail leaving the tip you want to paint white. Paint the nail tip, let the paint dry, then remove the tape.
Second is the type I use, but it takes a little more practice. Place the tip of the finger you want to paint on a flat surface like a table. Get a fair amount of nailpolish on the brush. Roll the finger so the far edge is faceing up, put the polish brush against your nail tip, and then roll the finger away from you slowly and smoothly. This will paint a smooth, straight line of white. How do I make my finger nails ';French Nails'; without crookedness? Like with white tops?
Skip the hard work and just do a brush-on one step French Manicure from MyNaturalNails.com. It dries fast and looks great. No messy mistakes and it takes seconds to do.

NAILS: curvy or square @ the top???
do you prefare rounded nails or square at the top?? (on girls)NAILS: curvy or square @ the top???
Definately rounded. Square is annoying and breaks off too much. It's also harder to shape.
For French manicures, square can look good if it's pretty short and done right. Most of the time, though, I prefer rounded. ♥NAILS: curvy or square @ the top???
I think young girls mostly go for the square with design and older women are going with the curve and some design.
I just got my nails done over the weekend and I always had them filed curved but this time I went with square and a few designs. I personally feel that women's hands look a lot more feminine with the curve. But the square looks so today kind of. It also should depend on what you're wearing. Say if you're going out on a Saturday night date and you're dressing up.....definitely go curve. If you're dressing casual, then square would look more appropriate.
But you know the old cliche: ';To each its own.';
Squoval.
rounded!
depends, are the going to be aqrilic?(spelling is way wrong) if so french tips should be more square, where as plain colors look better rounded. Natural nails look better rounded also I think.
just so u know, you can get ingrown nails if they are not cut straight across...
square!!!!!!!!
definately rounded! Square looks affected to me.
Square looks more fancy to me and curvy I see on old people.
square definitely
curvy~
curvy
i definately prefer rounded nail tips. what is up with all these people have square tips?! eww... this is just my opinion by the way. i think rounded is better because there is some shape to it and because it gives the whole nail an overall oval shape whereas square tips would just look rather kift LOL c'mon rounded cuticle then square tips. it is not even a shape haha. also squared cuticles and squared tips look too... square dont like it at all. my nails are naturally oval shaped so not too hard for me to maintain.
so yeah i prefer rounded. x
Rounded.
Squared nails make hands look unfeminine (to me).
to me, oval looks outdated and tacky and if your under the age of 50 its going to look weird..Long square nails look trashy and cheap..I prefer short squared nails, with french tips, its natural and classy looking.
Square and long.
Squared nails won't break as easily as rounded tips. The squared tips (on natural nails) are much less likely to break because the wider tips make the nail stronger. There is more area at the tip to spread out or absorb any 'trauma' inflicted.
However yours look best! Usually gently rounded is the most flattering, it makes your hands look more delicate.
well it depends but i realy prefare the square because there preater and sassy
i prefer square with rounded tips.... i think there is a funny name for it, but can't think of it right now....
squoval
rounded
Rounded seems more delicate and feminine.
rounded! square nails are tacky in my oppinion. they're also really tricky to have....the edges get caught on things and you can scratch yourself.
I prefer square becausethe truth is, it makes the nail look real if they are fake and it makes them look longer if they are real or fake. so if you want short nails then go with the round and if you want nails that look long go with the square.
I personally prefer square!!!1
My are naturaly long and rounded at top. But when I go get them done I go with square.

Can u use top coat as a base coat on ur nails?
No, the top coat will make your finger nails crack because it is a sealer ,the other condition and protect .Can u use top coat as a base coat on ur nails?
Sure, it's basically the same formula and won't damage your nails. Can u use top coat as a base coat on ur nails?
yes you can. im a nail tech and have found top coat to be the best as it stops the nail plate from discolouring.
Basically yes and many companies make one product that serves both purposes.
yeah you can
yes its completely finee.
havee a wonderful night. (:

I have really bad nails, they are weak and split a lot at the top and just in general suck.?
any idea what's wrong and what could help them (no products please)?I have really bad nails, they are weak and split a lot at the top and just in general suck.?
I used to have really brittle nails and could never grow them because they would split way down into the skin and bleed...I started taking calcium and now I have long natural, healthy nails and they are so strong!!! It makes them grow faster too!!! Good luck and I hope this helps!!!I have really bad nails, they are weak and split a lot at the top and just in general suck.?
Calcium , vitamin E , and do the dishes by hand. I have never had a nail problem.
Calcium %26amp; silicon should help that. Especially silicon. Oats, cabbage %26amp; grapes are particularly high in silicon... those should help.
vitamins! they work wonders! just a regular everyday vitamin like centrum. guarantee you will see results. i had that problem too
Me for being a guy, i have them thick and shinny.....and I also have long lashes.....and no im not gay!
Make sure that you are getting a well balanced diet, with enough protein, the basic building block for hair and nails. Protect your hands and nails where possible, by using gloves when outdoors in cold weather, and wearing rubber gloves when doing household chores or exposing your hands and nails to chemicals or cleaning products. Also, make sure you use a hand lotion, any kind, after each time that you wash your hands to make your nails more flexible so that they aren't brittle and prone to chipping. The healthier your cuticles are, the healthier your nail growth will be.

I've nailed carpet-gripper along the top of my 3 foot fence......?
It is clearly visible to act as a deterent to local youths who sit on the gable end of my home. A mother, who lives across the road, says she will report me to the police if anything happens to either of her two boys 11 and 13. She is concerned about the other kids who could hurt themselves on the protruding nails if they play along side the fence. I cant win!. Is it illegal to put them on my fence!?. Words have no effect on the gangs who sit on the fence or use it as a goal.I've nailed carpet-gripper along the top of my 3 foot fence......?
You shouldn't have protruding nails. If someone who wasn't a 'yob' got hurt then you'd be in deep trouble.
It is quite legal to use 'natural' deterrents. My local CPO recommended planting some pyrocantha and holly along the fence and training it along the top. It takes a little while to grow, unless you buy mature plants in a pot.
These plants are perfectly legal and nobody can have a go at you proving they stay on your property. They have very hard long spikes on the pyrocantha and holly is also rather sharp all the year round. Also grow a nice bushy rose along the foot of your fence. Choose a long thorned variety.
Nobody can prosecute you for having these, even if a yob falls into one and injures himself when climbing over your fence.
They also look nice.I've nailed carpet-gripper along the top of my 3 foot fence......?
Hope you catch a lot of cats!
Did you try talking to the neighbours first and ask them to dissuade their offspring from invading your territory? Or is this no longer the done thing in the UK?
Well now that's not very nice. The little @#$%^%26amp;s deserve it though if they're (obviously) being nuissances. I probably would have just covered the top of the fence with something sticky like a slow tack rate glue. It will ruin their clothes but not do any real harm, while I like your way the drawback is that they may need Tetanus shots!
You might even want to paint the fence with a clear coat or varnish just before they come over also!
Yes, if they get hurt, they can sue. You can't win for losing, I know. The best thing to do is erect a higher fence - as high as local ordinances allow. Also check your local ordinances about signs. In some places, the simple erection of ';no trespassing'; and ';no loitering signs'; helps, because it's against the law to ignore them if a homeowner has them, thereby giving you more ammo in any legal action that a b***h like those kids' mother might take. Might not apply to your town, but worth finding out.
If someone hurts themselves you may be liable.
I think it is illegal - don't you know that scummy little teenagers have human rights and are allowed to do whatever they want - you will be expected to provide them with cider soon so they can drink whilst sitting on your wall. Although it is really tempting, broken glass is also illegal. What about the metal wrought iron pointed gates - you can get a short version for on top of walls - perhaps get a grinder and just sharpen the points a little bit more. What about playing opera or classical music really loud from your house when they sit on your wall - all joking aside, some local shops have tried this to stop youths hanging around outside their shops and it works - it's so uncool for them!
You may get arrested if a child gets hurt...remove the nails.
Well shes not much of a mother then is she, how dare she say that she will report you if her kids are hurt, hasn't she got a fence herself that her brats can sit on and damage, I would have a solicitors letter sent to her pretty damn sharpish telling her if her brats sat on my fence again I will prosecute them and her for trespassing.
Anti-climb paint? Not illegal at all.
Thorny bush? Failing that, a big dog that you train to puncture footballs.
Get a paintball gun, and for extra effect, put the paintballs in your freezer for a couple of days.
Ive the same problem with the children climbing on my wall , but i think it's illegal to put anything up to stop them try your local police station and ask them what you can and cant put up , i have all stones in my front and great big ceramic balls , one of my neighbours said the children will hurt themselves on thay , my point to her was thay shouldn't be on my wall or in my front garden in the first place.
You've got a point! If mothers like that one would teach their children to be mannerly and to respect others, you wouldn't have had to do that in the first place! I'd talk to a lawyer to be certain. You don't want to lose everything because of b****es like that!
This is legally a grey area because they would have to take you to court and are they seriously going to do that when the kids know it is there?
I'm not a legal expert, i suppose she could tell the police so you could be told to remove it but the fact remains her children wouldn't be hurt of they didn't try to climb it. it's not going to jump out and cut them.
If i was living next door to you (and i have 2 kids) i would say it was their own fault if they got hurt because they know it's there, them and the other kids shouldn't be climbing your fence anyway!
Sounds like the mother is the biggest problem, no wonder her kids don't behave.
There is a product called Prik-a-Strip that is plastic and totally legal which you can attach to your fence. Its has points to it which stops cats but will also make it harder for people to climb over.
I do suggest you take down the carpet-gripper though as kids ,being what they are today ,will give them an excuse to make you a target for other bigger problems for you and your family.
Yes, your fence has to be at least 6 foot, you could be arrested if any harm or damage to anyone going near your fence
I'm afraid it's illegal, same reason for not allowing broken glass set into cement on top of walls. Sad I know but what can you do?
I had my shed burnt down by these thoughtless yobs, the police said there is nothing they can do unless I caught them in the act, which I didn't.
it is an offence to put carpet gripper on your fence im afraid, but as a kid the one thing that would deter me was that black greasy vandal paint,i'm u could get this from somewhere like b%26amp;q reasonably cheat,id advise trying it.
I sympathise with you, but yes, knowing how ludicrous our laws are you could well get done if one of the brats hurts themselves. It might be worth seeking advice from your local police station as to what is acceptable. Perhaps you could try anti-vandal paint?
puting carpet gripper is Illegal. Anti vandal paint is ok but you must put up a sign that says it has been used on the premises although you don't have to state where.
You cannot put anything like that below six foot and even then you must be careful as there was a thief near me who cut themselves on wire on the top of a 7 ft fence and succesfully sued the owner of the property !!!
Yep as far as i know its illegal, but then so is climbing on and vandalising someone elses property. I would leave it up and take a risk that nobody reports you. The mother should be chastising her children not you. If you do take it down then try contacting your local police and asking them to patrol past your house, this sometimes works as a deterrent. Good luck xx
Yep! Sorry but it is illegal to fit such items as this to a boundary wall or fence,If anyone is injured they can sue!
I know how you feel as I have had this problem on many occasions when I used to live in England.
Any attempt to ask the offenders politely to desist will usualy end with further noise %26amp; probably damage to your property, so keep calm.
I would like to be able to suggest a call to the local Police but they are usualy as helpfull as an ashtray on a motorbike!
No..... when little shits like this are making your life a misery the best thing to do is to hide somewhere where you have a clear view of whats going on...preferably a flat garage roof or similar, make sure you are unconspicuous!
Then when the time is right shoot a couple of them in the legs with a high powered air rifle...you must then get the gun out of the house maybe to an understanding next door neighbour %26amp; if the Police arrive feign all knowledge of the event and appear as shocked as they are...!
You see the Police have a favourite saying they use when you ask them if they can catch the person that committed an offence against YOU! And it's this .....We know it's them BUT WE CAN'T PROOVE IT! so i like to give the same message back to the Police when I am forced to defend myself or property from thugs...OK it might have been me? PROOVE IT! They never have yet!

Natural nails with Acrylic on top! ? :D?
so heres the question ... i have prettty long nails right... so theres no product that i find that can maintain my natural nail from breaking so i decided to put acrilic on the top .. they look really nice but the Big o questions lol. is is this the right product to put? or am i doing wrong to my beautiful nails help please?Natural nails with Acrylic on top! ? :D?
Hi there
Applying acrylic will not damage your natural nails. The improper application and removal is what damages nails. If you have the acrylic applied and removed correctly, then you should have no problem.
If you have lovely long nails already but want to keep them from breaking, you can have what is called a Natural Nail Overlay (nno). This is just a thin layer of acrylic placed over you natural nail to protect it.
In the long term though. I would suggest taking a Sea Kelp supplement as this is known to improve the strength of the keratin which is present in nails and hair. Alternatively, take a look at your diet, you may be deficient in some vitamin but don't try drinking a lot of milk as this just won't work ;)Natural nails with Acrylic on top! ? :D?
Acrylic is just going to damage your nails. If you don't want your natural nails breaking, Acrylic is definitely not the way to go.

To give my nails a ';shiny'; finish... do i buff it prior to painting it.. or do i put a shine coat on top ..?
to give my nails a ';shiny'; finish... do i buff it prior to painting it.. or do i put a shine coat on top after painting it? or does one do both?
also, wat do u call the ';shine coat'; u put on at the end?
thanks! To give my nails a ';shiny'; finish... do i buff it prior to painting it.. or do i put a shine coat on top ..?
if you want your nails to shine without the nail polish buffing would work when you paint your nails you should put on a base coat first then the color you want and after that you should put on a top coat of fast finish polish dryer and that will make them shineTo give my nails a ';shiny'; finish... do i buff it prior to painting it.. or do i put a shine coat on top ..?
if you want it really shiny get the four sided buffers from sephora, they're really cheap (http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?鈥?/a> use all the four sides. Then, paint your nails with the color and then, use the top coat as well. It will make your nails verrrrry shiny! Guaranteed
Buffing helps a little because makes your nails super smooth and even and with that kind of nail, the polish reflects the light much better and it looks shinier. However, if you want a super shiny polish, put a shine coat on top.
This is only what I've heard (i.e. no experience):
-buffing your nails shines them, but when you put nail polish on top, you're not going to see your shiny nails
-a top coat is shiny, and it helps your nail polish to last longer
I don't think buffing oyur nails really effects the shine of your polish. Either buy a higher-gloss nail polish or top it with a top coat of clear, shiny nailpolish to increase shine.
1. buff
2. bottom coat
3. color, design, ect.
4. top coat
all the steps 2 perfect nails
buffing only helps with shine if you're not wearing nail varnish, once you put the varnish ontop it makes no differnce
you put on clear polish over the color you want

Yes, it's a perfect gift. Getting hair, and nails done is a need for some women lol. The thing is, that stuff is expensive especially with our current economy I would love it, really love it if someone was paying for me to get my nails touched up.
You have to know the girl. Tomboy types won't appreciate it as much. I wouldn't have wanted something like that, because for the money spent I could do most of it myself. Some women love to be pampered in luxury. I know many women who can't stand that.
You know the person. Go with what you think.
You can never go wrong with a day at the spa with a girl.
Yes, most women would love this gift, we love to be pampered!

Does anyone really put on 3 coats of nailpolish when painting their nails? (base coat, color coat, top coat)?
I have only done it once because I read some beauty tips that you're supposed to do that, but it took forever to wait to let it dry in between coats and I just don't have time for that. What is the purpose of that ? I usually just paint them the color I want and put my hands out the window while I'm driving to work for them to dry.Does anyone really put on 3 coats of nailpolish when painting their nails? (base coat, color coat, top coat)?
I've read that doing three coats (base coat, polish, top coat) makes them more likely to chip off. If it's a light color, I just use polish. If it's a darker color, I apply base coat first, and then polish but not a top coat because wearing dark polishes by themselves can deposit yellowish color to your nails that's hard to get rid of.Does anyone really put on 3 coats of nailpolish when painting their nails? (base coat, color coat, top coat)?
Yes! The base coat is used to keep the color polish from staining your nail beds. And by applying a top coat, your polish will stay on longer and be less likely to chip.
FYI: If you don't apply a base coat and your nails beds stain pink or yellow, you can soak your digits in lemon juice for 15 minutes to remove the staining.
It is know that it's the best steps to take to keep your nails healthy %26amp; to have the colour long lasting. Remember, light coats to your base %26amp; top coats are best.
1. Base coat is to condition your nails as well as prevent
them from getting yellow from the colors.
2. Colour is for color.
3. Top coat is to help prevent chipping to your nail polish
%26amp; many also enhances shine.
I'm a pretty busy person %26amp; I don't have time to do my nails every other day. Doing these steps help them to last all through the week. I, along with many friends, use Sunday evenings as our girly time for manicures, pedicures %26amp; special hair conditionings.
Hope this helped to answer your question. ;o)
ha ha. i just do the color and the top coat.
Ive tried this and I think the main reason they say to do this is to keep the nail polish from chipping off so soon. Well it does help but Im like you, it takes WAAAYYY too long to dry and I usually end up hitting it on something and messing it up anyway. So what I do is just put one or two coats of color (depending on how dark or light) and then a top coat for more shine.
You should use a base, to prevent yellowing/drying of the nail, then apply 2 coats of color, waiting at least 5-10 minutes in between each coat, then apply top coat, to seal the color and prevent chipping and/or fading.
I usually do 2-4 coats of the same color. I don't put clear color clear or whatever it is. If you do light coats, it usually only takes about 10-20 minutes for each coat to dry. If you let the coats dry completely before you put the next one on, as a whole, your nails will dry quicker.
Yes I DO do that. The reason is simple. If you want your nails to be healthy but yet at the same time look nice, if you want your nail polish to last longer, THEN you do that. If you don't care, then, just keep doing what you're doing.
The base coat prevents your nail from turning yellow. Sometimes, when you use colors like red, or brown, when you clean off your nail polish, your nail becomes yellow. And when that happens, there's not much you can do about it. So, prevention is better than cure isn't it?
And your color coat, well, I suppose it speaks for itself.
As for the top coat, the reason being is that it simply prevents your nails from chipping, so you can keep your nail polish longer. I mean c'mon, chip nail polish isn't the nicest sight to see is it? And again, it doesn't help your nails either, cos chip nail polish might leave a mark on your bare nails, and again, prevention is better than cure right?
The reason people do all those ';troublesome'; things is because they could either care for the nails, read it off some beauty magazine and decide to follow it, or they just want to keep their nail polish on their nails longer.
I suppose it's harder for you cos when you are doing your nails, you're doing something else as well. BUT, the key thing that I learn is BE FREE. Do it in your spare time. Leave an hour just to do your nails. That way, you can have nails that are healthy AND last for more than a week.
Just to add to the ';troublesomeness';, if you want to keep your nail polish longer on your nails, paint a top coat every 2 nights! Haha, jk, you seem to be a busy woman. So, may be you could try setting time to do it? And if an hour is too long, try some tricks to have your nail polish dry faster, you could buy those nail polish that drys in a minute, or those that HELPS your nails dry faster, OR what I do is that once I paint my nails, air dry for 30 seconds, the I soak my nails in ICE cold water, for another 30 seconds. And then air dry for a minute. Your nails would dry instantly like that. Unless you put a lot more coats, then may be it would take a longer time. But that's what I usually do.
And like the saying goes, ';beauty comes with a price';!
When I'm bored I put color, color, color, color, then top top.
Ha say that five times fast!!!
i usually do one coat because I do not want to fiddle with it. However, when I want my polish to last throughout the week, or when it's very important for me to look polished (peeled nail polish does not do wonders for winning clients over, and my nails do not look so good w/o it), I put 3 coats, and try to prevent myself from messing it up while it dries.
It does last much longer when you have 3 coats on
Base coat prepares the nail for the color. The color can penetrate the nail that is why you use tha base coat. The top cost seals the color and makes it more resitant to chipping peeling etc.
YES
3 coats is proper bcuz 1st coat protects your nails from stains, 2nd is your desired color for get up and the 3rd 1 is top coat to shine and protect
i just do one coat
I put the 3 coats on. The base usually dries fast so you don't have to wait long, plus it prevents your nails from getting yellow. then the nail polish color, sometimes I even put on 2 coats of color and then the top coat to prevent it from chippin fast.

Why are the tops of your nails white and the rest pink?
its just one of those stupid things i have been wondering :-)??Why are the tops of your nails white and the rest pink?
Nails are made up of translucent keratin, whick is the same colour as the white free edge of your nail, however when the nail plate is attached to the nail bed, the blood vessels show through, which gives it a slightly pink colour.
You must have hear the myth that the white flecks on your nails are a calcium or zinc deficiancy, in truth, if you knock you nail it will lift slightly from the nail bed and that is why is why the nail bruises are white.
Hope this helpsWhy are the tops of your nails white and the rest pink?
The pink part is actually attached to skin, called the cuticle...that's why it hurts so much if you cut to much of your nail. The white at the top is just because this part is not attatched to skin, and stuff like dust, dirt, germs dead skin etc collects under there, and normal wear and tear, making it white, or brown. ALso, sometimes the part of your nail that sticks out (not attatched to your skin) has become thicker as we get older, because we have clipped them so many times. This also contributes to the white color.
Its because the rest of your nail is connected to your finger and the pink color is just your finger underneath. The white part is really the same color as the rest of your nail, it just looks white because it has no skin under it.
because the bottom portion of the nail is on top of the skin and the skin is pink and white at the tips becasue it is not on the skin
because the nail is translucent and lets light through
the top of you nail is white because there is no skin behind it
either that or you've had a french manicure lol
IT IS NOT BLOOD!
just thought i would highlight and make that point clear
your whole nail is white but where it is attached to your finger it appears to be pink because there is blood and other things underneath, just when it grows away from your finger it is seen as white!
probably becasue your ';Pink nail'; is on the part where there blood, underneath, and the whie part is at the part, which is not underneath blood
the whole nail is actually the colour of the top white part of the nail. its pick cause there is flesh under the nail at that part
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
pmsl because the pink bit is attatched to your finger...the white bit has grown up and is not attatched to anything..
Are you having a fluffy moment???
Because our nails are actually translucent. They stay the same as they grow but the pink bit is the flesh underneath and when it gets past that it appears whitish
Because our nails are actually translucent. They stay the same as they grow but the pink bit is the flesh underneath and when it gets past that it appears whitish. =)
they are pink because they are on top of flesh, if you ripped off the whole nail, it would be entirely white[like the top of the nail]
because the white bit is where they separate from your finger/skin...so they are pink where there is your finger/flesh/skin underneath them...look for yourself.
There's like blood underneath them or something. And the white part is where its got no skin or nothing under it so you cant see the blood. Idk? I guess its kinda weird. Hard to explain too. =]
Because they aren't stuck to your fingers so you can't see the blood under the skin.
because the pink bit is attached to your finger, the white bit isnt. Have you ever broken a nail and made it bleed.
Its Acutully ALL white/clear Its Just The Bottom Parts Are Blending Fron Your Skin And Blood.
the rest is pink because its stuck to your skin which is pink
the tops arent attached to the skin....:)
it revolves around cells
cos the bottom parts have loadsa blood directly under them
because the light reflects under it!
Yours are white?
That's weird. Mine are brown...

Help top Biting My Nails?
i have bitten my nails since every since i can remember.
its not that im hungry. (lolz) or that im nervous. or that im upset or scared or something. i just naw on my nails for no reason. and my nails are really short. they dont bleed. (they're not that short). but once i start i go on for like 10 mins. straight on that one nail. and i barely realize im doin it until someone tells me to stop.
my mom bit her nails when she was little but stopped around my age.

You should put nail polish on your nails, even if it's clear. I had a less severe case and it really works. Everytime you try to bite your nails you get this weird taste in your mouth which in the future prevents you from doing it again.Help top Biting My Nails?

Girl its just a habit that you have and it is hard to break. I remember I bit my nails when i was younger like in 4th grade. It would make the teacher nervous and one time my teacher told me that I need to think about it if im biting my nails I need to think about I could be doing it when my nails are not that clean. And it can cause a bad bacteria infection. I got scared and I was like GROSE!! Then I quit. So you need to think about it real good. Hope this helps.

Why does the nailpolish on the tips of my nails always chip off? I use a top coat!!!?
because we as women use our hands for everything, and i hate having to polish every other day i don't think it matters about the top-coat its something we have to do. i stick to really basic shades pearlized white, pearlized bronze because if i go dark my nails turn yellow plus i like the sheer shades for summer very sexy! and here is another thing who in the world thought black was a good color, c'mon ladies!
Best/Cheapest Base Coat and Top Coat for Nails?
i need a base coat and a top coat!
or are they the same thing??Best/Cheapest Base Coat and Top Coat for Nails?
Yes they are the same thing.
I use a nail hardener. Its practically the same thing and I find it is cheaper. Base and top coats are hard to find where I live :[
You could try that.Best/Cheapest Base Coat and Top Coat for Nails?
These days I use Avon products.
A base coat will smooth out the surface of your nails, making your polish look nicer. It also helps the polish adhere to your nails better, making it less likely to chip.
In a pinch, you could use a clear top coat as a base coat too. I used to use whatever was cheapest or on sale at the store.

The tops of my nails are slightly bumpy, more so on my thumbs. Why is this and how can I stop it?
I'm almost sure it's due to some sort of vitamin/minerals deficiency, but I'm not sure exactly which one. So please tell me if you know!
Thanks! The tops of my nails are slightly bumpy, more so on my thumbs. Why is this and how can I stop it?
Umm im not sure but i buff the top of my nails once every few weeks when they start getting bumpyThe tops of my nails are slightly bumpy, more so on my thumbs. Why is this and how can I stop it?
The shape of the tops of your nails are, unfortunately, inherited. Can't be changed with diet. Unique, like finger prints. Thumbs do tend to have ridges more than the others.
A previous answerer suggested filing them. I'm sure she means one of those wedgy sort of files, kind of like a sponge. You can knock down some of the ridges that way.
(But, to be honest, most people don't notice ridges on other people.)
Nail polish (clear, if you're a guy) should also smooth them out???
sorry cant help, mine only do it when i have been wearing the glue on falsies and i have taken them off, then they are bumpy until they have grown out.
Vitamin D from what I remember, it can also indicate that you have asthma.
Hi dont worry to much, but for more details go on the search bar and just type in 'ridges on fingernails' pick the 1st site shown...ok?

I'm getn my done nails today, I work in a nightclub and I don't like the top coat that the lady puts on. ?
it makes my nails glow under the blacklights. What can I have her put on as a top coat but doesn't glow in the blacklight.I'm getn my done nails today, I work in a nightclub and I don't like the top coat that the lady puts on. ?
It's not the top coat that is glowing. It's the white airbrush tips that got sprayed on your nails. Acrylic itself is also blacklight reactive, but not as much as the airbrushing is. My advice, get gel nails done. I have gel nails and I personally do them myself. There are sooooo many advantages to them, I'll even list them myself!
Gel nails: Are natural looking, don't feel heavy or overly thick like acrylic, don't hurt when put on, don't smell during application, don't require an electric drill before application (just a light filing with a nail file), DON'T CAUSE CANCER (Acrylic powder is a carcinogen and has been banned from use in Germany and some other European countries), don't lift from the natural nail (so when you run your hands in your hair, it's not tearing your hair out), can come in many colors, when they grow out- you can't tell where the gel ends and where your natural nails starts, they are not UV light reactive (but yet they are cured under a UV light), they do not dissolve in acetone, they have to be filed off or grown out...I could go on forever. You can never overcure gel nails and they won't discolor!!I'm getn my done nails today, I work in a nightclub and I don't like the top coat that the lady puts on. ?
What she probably puts on is a UV top sealer and you could try having her buff them and put just a regular clear coat on top. You would have to redo it every couple days but it just takes a second.
I agree, it's a UV topcoat, and your only other option would be for her to put a gel coat on top instead of that UV coat. That way, you get the shine that lasts.
Why don't you ask her?

Should I use a base coat/top coat when I paint my nails?
I find a base coat of a nail strengthener is a good start. It helps the colored coat slide on smoother and stops it staining your nails. The top coat helps to stop the color from chipping off and giving you a high shine.
It's worth it, but not essential if you're using quality products.
All the best.
XOXShould I use a base coat/top coat when I paint my nails?
Always base coat. It helps prevent damage to your nails because the nail polish doesn't allow the nail to breathe.
It can prevent your nail from becoming brittle, and turning yellow or discoloured (from nail polish stains).
Top coat can keep you nailpolish on for longer, reduce chipping, and add shine!Should I use a base coat/top coat when I paint my nails?
id suggest doing so- if u do the nail polish will stay on longer- howevr some brands arent all that great and dont work so well a good brand that id suggest is OPI, ur local nails salon, beauty store, or wal-mart shoud hav it!! :)
i usually use a top coat but not a base coat because i use 2 coats of nail polish and if you have that mant layers it's too thick and peels off
nail polish lasts longer and your nails dont get brittle and yellow
yeah, i always do. Your nail polish won't chip as easily and it will help it to last longer.

I'm getting Airbrush nails done tomorrow. Are airbrush nails acrylic nails with airbrush designs on top?
yes but please make sure they know what they are doing.acrilics will damage your nails. you can yet long natural nails if you constantly paint them. whan you dont what to have nail polish on them put a clear coat on and seal the edges. dont lett them cut or push back your cuticles this will do more damage than the acrilics. good luck with the nails and just to actualy answer the question you are correct but without the acrilics you cn have it on acrilics but it cost extraI'm getting Airbrush nails done tomorrow. yes they are done on top. but to be honest, dont waste your money on getting them because the airbrush design wont last long, not even 2 weeks. the most that they might look descent might be a couple of days. they tend to smear. hope that helps you out. :)
Well it could mean that your just going to get some airbrush design on your own nail... but you could also get acrylic nails and have cool airbrush designs put on them. They will ask you what you want done.
You can get an airbrush design
on any type of nails
it is most popular to have

Does top coat discolor your nails?
i know nail polish does. but does top coat only discolor them?Does top coat discolor your nails?
No it doesn't but that's why you use a base coat. :\Does top coat discolor your nails?
It really depends on the topcoat. If you buy like a cheap bad brand or something like that it might. But if you buy a good one then it just makes them really pretty and shiny!
nope. makes it shiney and makes it last longer.
no. just makes it last-less chipping.
not at all. just adds shine.
well i think sooo cuz wen i put on nail polish n then put on top coat...the color gets lighter n some of it fades away....soo my guess is yes it does discolor them...though still not sure...

So, if my puppy has black marks on the top of its feet between the nails and the wrist it is a min pin?
Miniature Pincers come in either Black and Tan or all Red.
Markings alone do not a Min Pin make.
Look at MinPin pics on the web and compare.
And most Black and Tans have tan feet and black legs. So, if my puppy has black marks on the top of its feet between the nails and the wrist it is a min pin?
You cannot really tell just by markings. Either post a picture or look up mini-pins and compare. So, if my puppy has black marks on the top of its feet between the nails and the wrist it is a min pin?
LMFAO!!!!
Not just';No.'; but ';HEL* NO!!!!';
Too funny....
Could be ANYTHING from a pug to DANE,but what is,IS A MUTT/MONGREL!!!!
Min Pins have the coloring of little Dobermans so if it looks like a doberman and it is the size of a chihuahua or a little bigger it is a min pin.

When you've painted your nails, do you need to apply a top coat?
You don't ';need'; to but you can, I always apply a shining/wet look top coat. When you've painted your nails, do you need to apply a top coat?
It's a good idea. You should ideally put a base coat on too, which can just be a clear nail polish. Once you've applied your colour, wait for it to dry completely and apply a clear nail polish or dedicated top coat polish to seal in the colour, this makes it last longer, become more chip-resistant and gives it a nice shine. When you've painted your nails, do you need to apply a top coat?
You dont realy need too. But it works better. If you aplly a top coat on it then it will last longer. When you wet youre finger it wont come off that easily. It looks better when you do have the coat on. But you still will look good without it. Heres a picture of how you will look with it and not with it-

its really up to you. If your nail polish color looks kind of dull, and not
as shiny as you'd like it to be then you should, and even if it is shiny, you can make it even shinier by applying a top coat, and as a bonus it acts as a protector for you polish so it will last longer.
You dont have to, but i would because it stops the polish from chipping as easily.
I normally put a basecoat, then 2 coats of nail varnish, and then a top coat :).
xx
You don't have to.
But it looks best if you paint your nails with the color, and then put a clear coat on top. It adds some shine, and makes the polish hold up a lot better!
I hope I helped,
~Elaina (:
I would and I would also apply a coat before putting the polish on because if you paint your nails a lot your nails can eventually turn a yellow color.:/
not really, top coat is generally used to keep ur nail polish from chipping, makes ur nail shiny, and keeps ur manicure lasting 4 a really long time. its up to you! :D
I don't, and my nails look fine but when I apply a clear top coat it does last longer and give better shine x it depends on time x
I usually only apply a top coat when I do a design or something. But if u want 2 it won't hurt anything. :)

Nail polish brand that has a black cap and a clear plastic gem on the top of the cap.?
I know this sounds stupid, but I lost my absolute all time favorite nail polish. I had only had it for a few months so it's not a crazy old brand or anything. I don't remember the color or the brand, but I can't find it in stores, and since I don't know the brand I can't find it online either. Please help if you know what brand I'm talking about. it's a round bottle that got narrower at the top, the cap was black and it had a clear plastic or acrylic ';gemstone'; thing that was on the very top. It's driving me insane, please even if your not sure just list any brands that you know have the plastic crystal on top of the lid.Nail polish brand that has a black cap and a clear plastic gem on the top of the cap.?

How can i keep my nail polish 2 stay longer? I hv also apply a top coat but still doesn't seen 2 last?
Try a better quality product like OPI. Do you properly prep you nails before you paint them? Try using a triple buffer on them next time before painting. How can i keep my nail polish 2 stay longer? I hv also apply a top coat but still doesn't seen 2 last?
You can try to apply two coats of polish, finshed off with a top coat from sally hansen.
Wear lighter colour so that when your polish chips, it s not so obvious.
Lastly, try not to use your finger nails to open can drinks or scrap off things. Use your nail bed instead or get some things to help you.How can i keep my nail polish 2 stay longer? I hv also apply a top coat but still doesn't seen 2 last?
Make sure your nails are clean of all oils before you paint them. I have been using Sally Hansens Tufflon Clear as a base, then I apply my color, and then I put 1 coat of Sally Hansens Hard As Nails on top. It normally last 2 - 3 weeks. I reapply the top coat every 5 days. Good luck.
apply a coat of colourless varnish on top, it will stay for longer.
Use a good base coat. I like any of the Sally Hanson products. Also, if you use any lotions, cuticle oil or nail polish remover just before you apply the polish, make sure you wash and dry your hands very well so that there is no residue before you paint. Otherwise your nails will chip faster.
Or your nails may be unhealthy or dry. Find a base coat that adds nutrients. I know Sally Hanson has one that I use, but I can't remember the name of it now.

When I apply a clear coat, it messes up my nail polish!!!! How am I suppose to apply a TOP COAT?
After doing my nails, I like to apply a clear top coat, just to prevent chipping and just for the added shine. I wait a while to make sure that my previous nail polish is completely dry, but when I apply the clear coat it smudges the nail polish underneath and drives me CRAZY =P
I have maybe 5 different clear coats and they all seem to be doing the same thing, its like they activate the polish underneath and then they smudge it...
Any advice =DWhen I apply a clear coat, it messes up my nail polish!!!! How am I suppose to apply a TOP COAT?
I put on the top coat a day after I paint my nails. What you said always happens to me, and I found that doing it that way works the best. This ensures your nails are perfectly dry. One time I painted my nails at around 6 and went to be at 11, and when I woke up I had stuff stuck to them. That means they still weren't dry after 5 hrs. I really suggest putting it on the next day. It won't do any harm in waiting. And you don't even have to wait that long for it to dry because it's only one coat. When I apply a clear coat, it messes up my nail polish!!!! How am I suppose to apply a TOP COAT?
I think the problem is that your not waiting enough time to dry. Even if you smudge it with your finger it still not might be dry enough. Just wait a little longer and apply the coat.
As a former manicurist it has to be done lightly, with a light touch, or wait until the last coat is totally dry. When I do my nails I wait til the next morning.
Maybe the problem is that your nail polish isn't completely dry.
So you should try waiting a little bit longer before you apply the clear coat.
What clear top coat brand are you using? I bought a cheapie one and it totally took off the nail polish. Maybe try a different brand. Or just wait until the color completely dries.
maybe they arent dry enough. paint your nails then put it under cold water because it helps dry quicker. then apply the clear coat.
Maybe your nails weren't completely dry yet. Try waiting a little longer. That's really the only reason that would happen.
Hope this helps!:)
Ok paint your nails with one coat, then an half an hour later do the clear.
wait 20 minutes before applying top coat
Do it while it's partially wet. That's how you're supposed to do it.
You haven't let your nails dry long enough. Like they have to be
REALLY dry. It sucks, :[
ugh, i know right???! lol. That would happen to me quite often as well. But you must really really allow it to dry.
wait for the nail polish to dry hard

I found a small bottle with a childlocked top in my sisters room and it smells like nail varnish remover!?
I told my dad who went on a huge ';dont do drugs'; and ';if i find out your friends are giving you drugs il call the police'; binge on her and i know it wont go anywhere in her mind.
Im obviously worried about it and i dont know what to do she said she was given it by a friend (she is 15) and she didnt ';take'; it. From the fact she said ';i didnt take it'; i assume she didnt sniff it or she would have said sniff but then maybe im just being stupid. I know she has smoked before and lied about it and she has depressive tendancies (cutting etc) she is in councilling at the moment but were just worried.

If you are worried about it, tell your parents, or a counselor at school.

What is the meaning of INRI on the top of jesus christ nailed on the cross?
i hope you can answer cause i really want to know the meaning of that termWhat is the meaning of INRI on the top of jesus christ nailed on the cross?
Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm (Latin). Translation=Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. What is the meaning of INRI on the top of jesus christ nailed on the cross?
Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.
Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdeaorvm
Latin doesn't have ';j';s so ';i';s were the stand in, the ';v';s are substituted for modern ';u';s.
The sign was put there by Roman soldiers mocking Jesus and his proclaimed divinity.
http://www.christiananswers.net/q-eden/e鈥?/a>
Right on Latin.
It was political mockery by the Romans
- at a time they used to burn not only flags.
We have developed - a bit - meanwhile and do
not insist any longer - in Bush being wrapped in.
Not to mention the evidence to what it might lead.
INRI is an acronym of the Latin phrase IESVS NAZARENVS REX IVD脝ORVM, which translates to English as: ';Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews';.
The Romans put it there as a taunt ';behold the king of the jews';

The Romans put it there as a taunt ';behold the king of the jews';
Jesus King of the Jews

It will, but is not recommended. Use a contact cement. You really want a full coverage adhesive. Will liquid nails heavy duty hold formica on top of formica if the first layer is ruffed up?
Liquid nails will bond to about anything. I used regular formica contact cement over my old formica without any issues. Just follow the instructions.

How will our nails grow?willit grow from top or bottom?
our nails are attached to the flesh.so from where they grow?from the nail top or bottom? How will our nails grow?willit grow from top or bottom?
Nails are made up of a tough protein called Keratin and are produced from living skin cells in the fingers and toes. The free edge is the part of the nail that extends past the finger, beyond the nail plate. There are no nerve endings in the nail - this is the growing part of the nail still under the skin at the nail鈥檚 proximal end.
Nails grow at an average rate of 3 millimetres a month. Fingernails require 3 to 6 months to regrow completely. Toenails require 12 to 18 months. Actual growth rate is dependent upon age, season, exercise level, and hereditary factors. Contrary to popular belief, nails do not continue to grow after death; the skin dehydrates and tightens, making the nails (and hair) appear to grow. How will our nails grow?willit grow from top or bottom?
The nail will grow from the bottom, under the skin. As it grows it ';pushes'; the rest of the nail out over the finger tips.

Why does my nails polish always get bubbly and rough after I apply the top coat?
Either the polish is old and too thick, or you are applying too much.
Add a LITTLE bit of nail polish remover [maybe just a drop] to thin it out a little, and make sure the bottom coat dries completely before you add another. Why does my nails polish always get bubbly and rough after I apply the top coat?
that always happens to me!
do you shake your nail polish ?
if so dont!
i read it in a seventeen magazine and it works ..
try it :D
if you think you need to shake it to get the color better kinda rollit around gently...

that happens to me sometimes,
too! try using less nail polish, or
putting on a base / top coat.

I have matched top with skirt and sandals with purse, but my nail polish doesn't match anything. Is that OK?
Brown, beige and orange, I honestly think it looks cute.

orange is ok w/brown and beige. off you go!
that is ok.
If you think it looks cute then that's all that matters. I'm sure it does. I used to paint mine all different colors.
color coordination only needs to go so far is you ask me
like omg
that`z disgusting
you're actually going to go out with nonmatching nails
WHAT WERE YOU THINKINGGGGGGGGG
As long as youre happy, gurl. And having to put off going out just cuz you need to re-do your nails, does not sound very happy.
To be safe, i always go for crazy colours, so it dont matter if they dont match =P In fact, my nails are a combination of orange, purple and black right now XD
I'm a guy, so don't ask me
ya thats will be fine i mean do u honestly want to change your nail polish color to match your outfit everyday?? lol that would get so old but u could always get french tips they match anything :)

Is it possible to balance 10 nails on the floor on top of each other? (No glue, fasteners, etc. ).?
It is an extra credit question for my science class. We are currently learning about the center of gravity/balance if that helps. Thanks! Is it possible to balance 10 nails on the floor on top of each other? (No glue, fasteners, etc. ).?
The link below shows how to balance ten nails on top of one nail.Is it possible to balance 10 nails on the floor on top of each other? (No glue, fasteners, etc. ).?
End to end? I think not. Perfectly manufactured nails would be required. Nails were never intended for this purpose, and manufacturing tolerances are nowhere near tight enough to give perfectly balanced nails.
Is that the whole question, any other restrictions, or especially a definition on ';on top of each other'; obviously not all the nails can be on on top of all the other nails.
If one lays two nails horizontally on the floor, parallel and a 2/3 or so of their length apart, one could stack the rest log cabin style on top and have a stable stack with 80% of them on top of other nails.
EDIT:
Thomas, that is pretty cool. I'm not sure it answers the problem of ';balance 10 nails on the floor'; since for the method shown in the link an additional support is needed, in one picture an eleventh nail is driven into a block, in another they are bing held by a person, but is still a clever idea.
If the nails are all symmetric, you can theoretically put them on top of each, and their centers of gravity will all lie right above each other, so the pile would not fall over. However, in real life, it would be very hard to get the centers of gravity lined up and also hard to place nails on the pile without exerting a slight horizontal force that would knock everything over. But it is possible.
