Yes I keep my nails thin rimmed in french and it looks nice. I had to stop getting the french tip because of course its half and half.. not all techs can do this correctly . it is easier if the french part is bigger.. they have to be more precise if its slim but it can be done.Can they put the tip of you frencd manicure as close to the top of your nail?

Hmm.... seems like everybody that answered so far are assuming that you want the french part to be on the thinner side.

It is definitely possible, and actually a popular style amongst the younger crowd, to have a more dominate looking white over the natural nail bed.





Traditionally, french manicures are meant to cover only the ';free edge'; of the nail.. which is the area that isn't attached to your nail bed. However, to have the smile line up, even as far as 3/4 of the way, is also becoming very popular. Any nail technician can perform this for you...





The best way to go about this would most likely have it hand-painted. You can still get it airbrushed, but the sides where your skin is, will not get full coverage (without causing a big mess).
