I'm building a tile top table, should I use liquid nail as a glue for tile to the plywood? Will it work?

I reviewed everyone's answers and they're all a bunch of idiots. What you do is use a tile adhesive known as mastic. It comes in plastic jugs/canisters. You spread it on with a notched trowel and lay the tile on it. You don't use Liquid Nails or Elmers's glue. What a bunch of friggin' idiots.I'm building a tile top table, should I use liquid nail as a glue for tile to the plywood? Will it work?
Chris M knows but he forgot to tell you to use one of those toothed trowels to spread the Liquid Nails for stone so you will have a nice even surface. If you don't you will end up with a very uneven surface. I hate when that happens.I'm building a tile top table, should I use liquid nail as a glue for tile to the plywood? Will it work?
Before you use the liquid nails, consider what the table will be used for. You might want to think about putting a piece of rock board between the tile and the plywood. It will give you an even surface, moisture barrier and your tile will adhere better.
Use glue made specifially for ceramic tile, if it's ceramic tile you're using.
It will work well- use the Glue from the one gallon can and spread smooth and even -if you use the tubes, flaten and smooth out even. Do not over use the glue, it will oose up and make a mess at the joints.
A Home Depot guy said you should use the tile glue for wood. I don't know if he was trying to get a sale but he was more experience than me.
Elmers! I think not! If you dont want to go through the mess of regular tile adhesive then liquid nails will work and they also have liquid nails for stone and such. Now good old silicone caulk will work great too. Ive been tileing for 30 yrs and have tried just about everything in certain cases to make things eaiser so what I told you will work. I used the liquid nails for stone on my own counter tops and its been there 15 yrs without any problems
Sure ....but, it will not be even and tile will be doing a ';rock and roll'; look...you did not say what kind of tile??I assume it is ceramic..so ';stick with';elmers glue...no pun intended. GOOD OLD elmers sure saves the day again !!
