Would using nail polish remover ruin a counter top?

I got some clear nail polish on my bathroom counter top. I was going to use nail polish remover of course, but I was wondering if it would ruin the countertop. Like damage it or ruin the color or something. I just don't wanna make a mistake :)Would using nail polish remover ruin a counter top?
It depends on the type of counter top. I would put a small amount of nail polish in a spot that you wont see (ie. under the edge, at the back in a corner). Let it dry then use a Q-tip dampened with nailpolish remover and gently wipe it. Try not to get too much remover on the counter top. Once you are done, wipe it with a damp cloth and wait a day or so. If there is no change in colour or there is no damage to the counter top, repeat the same process on the original spill. Good luck.Would using nail polish remover ruin a counter top?
It shouldn't ruin it but I no that it ruins clothes and puts holes in ur clothes so watch out for that :)
